Lee Walter

Associate Attorney

Lee is an Associate Attorney at The Prinz Law Firm, where he practices employment and business law, supporting both the firm’s individual clients and businesses. He assists with employment litigation, severance negotiations, contract review, and business advising, among many other matters.

Lee attended the University of Illinois College of Law in Urbana-Champaign graduating cum laude in May 2024. During school, Lee served as a summer law clerk at Prinz, where he gained familiarity with a variety of litigation and transactional matters, and sharpened his skills in conducting legal research, preparing legal memoranda, drafting and revising motions, and revising employee manuals. He also served as Managing Editor of the Illinois Business Law Journal. He previously worked as a paralegal for several years at Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis, a mid-sized corporate law firm in Washington, D.C.

Lee has a diverse array of professional and academic interests, including employment and labor law, business law, legal ethics, criminal and national security law, artificial intelligence, and international relations. During law school, he interned with Darrow AI, a legal tech company that uses machine learning technology to provide prelitigation services to plaintiff-side firms. The Illinois Business Law Journal selected his article on generative AI and the unauthorized practice of law for publication in 2023.

Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from American University and a master’s degree from the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. While in graduate school, he interned at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland. His thesis on domestic terrorism was selected for publication in the Georgetown Security Studies Review.

Lee is a Chicagoland native born and raised in Downers Grove. In his free time, he enjoys running, origami, word games, board games, and—before his joints gave out many years ago—gymnastics.
